As a member of CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association), the annual conference in San Diego is an exciting time for Produktworks to visit the show and check out all the new product releases. Our client, Modulus Media Systems, has had a presence at the CEDIA show for the past 3 years, winning numerous awards for their product line. Some of the awards they’ve collected include Innovation and Tech Today’s Best Entertainment Product for 2016 and 2017, and CEPro’s BEST Award in the Media Servers/Streaming Media/DVR category for 2018.
- Modulus’ impressive booth really stood out on the show floor
- Modulus’ booth display
- Modulus’ M1, MX1 and Remote
In addition to supporting Modulus, we got a chance to roam the show floor, check out really cool products and manufacturing techniques that companies are using. Catering to the high end Home AV market, some of the design and manufacturing techniques used were really impressive. Here are some of our favorite products from the CEDIA Show:
- The Kono Smart Thermostat was beautiful in its design simplicity, with interchangeable faceplates to suit the house color scheme
- Mytek’s perf pattern on their flagship product
- The attention to detail on Mytek’s flagship product’s faceplate was mind blowing. The plate is machined from billet aluminum before the buttons are cut out and anodized grey, to maintain the consistent pattern/texture
- Wisdom Audio’s amplifiers used the same aluminum extrusion, cut in different configurations to vary the design on the faceplate
- Dan D’Agostino’s amps consisted of a custom analog dial, along with giant heat sinks, machined from billet copper
- Dynaudio’s Streaming Speaker has a full textile cover front and back plate
- Revo Audio’s Red Dot-winning SuperSignal, Bluetooth Digital Radio
- Lode Audio machines their chassis our of a single piece of billet aluminum. Crazy (and very impressive)!
- Siedle’s Intercom products are cleanly designed and ultra modern
- NEEO’s Universal Remote with touchscreen and charging base
- Paradigm Speaker’s grille was intricate and very Arabesque in its inspiration
- Monitor Audio’s speaker grille has a perf pattern that is machined/laser cut and then stamped
